Short scale bass rare Alembic One of a kind
This is the only Alembic 28 scale bass in existence. It was considered as a prototype by Alembic because of its size, but would have turned out to be a rather expensive one for children. It is perfect for smaller people and is a serious bass guitar. It is also the second smallest bass Alembic had have ever built. The first was 19 inches built for the child of a doctor. This bass was originally suggested by me after The Who's John Entwistle's series 1 bass with the Alpha tail. Its the only one of its kind created by Mica from Alembic. It's a bit smaller then a fender mustang bass. Alembic called it a 3/4 of a 3/4 sized bass. It is around 28 inches long from the top of the Omega point to the top of the headstock. At first they questioned whether or not it was even possible to make, but they have indeed succeeded with fabulous results! It was built in 2010. In 2013, I had it professionally converted to to a fretless with amazing results by luthier Norik Renson of Renson guitar shop in north Hollywood, California. ( I hesitated about Alembic doing the job because of time restraints. It has the fret indicators left in. The bass can always be converted back to fretted if desired so I reduced the price even 400.00 lower incase the buyer wants to make it fretted again which is no problem. It has active and non active capabilities and actively battery powered. It has 2 Alembic pick ups, one bridge pick up, and one neck pick up with 4 positions. Each pick up has a Hi and Low pass filter switch and 2 bass and treble knobs designated for each pick up. The filters give you an incredibly wide tonal range. Each pick up can be switched on individually or both together or completely off. The input jack can have headphones plugged into it. The wood is hand picked Cocobolo wood, purple heart and various other intricate wood inlays. Extremely butter smooth Ebony neck, Abalony inlays, etc etc. It has brass lock-in strap attachments. This bass does Not sound small! And it is not a piccolo bass. It is Big sounding and is the ideal recording bass for bassists and guitarists. It is a serious instrument. I've used it in the studio as well as with a Fender Bassman and Phil Jones amps. This thing has power and complimented ny many sound engineers and bassists. It comes with a custom Ap brown leather case custom built for this bass, fully padded with extra padded insertsthe case was 500.00 to have custom built. The bass and case was 8,000.00. It is in great condition, inside and out! Questions Please ask. The Price is absolutely Firm. I have reduced the price drastically and will not go any lower. I will keep this instrument if it does not sell.
If I don't get a buyer I'm not going to re-list I'm going to have the frets replaced and re-list for 7000.00.
Revision as of Oct 17. I will ship internationally but the buyer may have to add a little more money depending on the shipping payment and how far. (i never shipped internationally before) we can work out the details.
